Did you know that you can tell the difference between the male and the female carpenter bee by the color of their face? Well that's only one way. The other way to tell the male insect from the female insect is that the female insect will sting and the male will not. So it's not a very good idea to go around getting close enough to a carpenter bee to tell the male face from the female.
